Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 July 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the GT Drones Network platform at gtdrones.com.au (the “Platform”). By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. About GT Drones
GT Drones Network (“GT Drones”, “we”, “us”) operates an online marketplace that connects clients seeking drone services (“Clients”) with independent drone pilots (“Pilots”). GT Drones is an intermediary that facilitates bookings, payments and communication. Pilots are independent contractors — they are not employees or agents of GT Drones, and GT Drones does not itself provide drone services.
GT Drones (ABN 89 779 468 689).
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
- Pilots must hold and maintain all licences, authorisations and insurance required to operate legally in Australia (including a valid Remote Pilot Licence where applicable) and must keep their compliance documents current on the Platform.
3. How bookings work
- A Client requests a job and sets the price they are willing to pay (the “offer”), which is inclusive of GST.
- The offer is presented to eligible Pilots, and a qualified Pilot may accept it.
- Once a Pilot accepts, a booking is formed between the Client and the Pilot, facilitated through the Platform.
- Clients are responsible for providing accurate job details, site access, and any permissions needed for the work to be carried out safely and lawfully.
4. Payments, fees and payouts
- Payment for a booking is taken securely up front through our payment processor at the price set by the Client.
- GT Drones charges a commission on completed bookings. The applicable commission is shown to Pilots and deducted from their earnings.
- Pilots are paid their earnings, less commission, after a holding period once the job is complete.
- All amounts are in Australian dollars and, where applicable, include GST. Pilots and Clients are each responsible for their own tax obligations.
- The price for a booking is fixed at the time of payment and does not change after payment; to change the price, a booking must be cancelled and re-created (subject to the cancellation terms below).
5. Cancellations and refunds
Cancellation outcomes depend on how much notice you give before the scheduled job:
- Cancelled before a pilot has been assigned, or before the job is scheduled — full refund, no fee.
- Cancelled with 24 hours or more notice before the scheduled time — full refund, no fee.
- Cancelled with less than 24 hours notice — a 50% cancellation fee is retained. That fee is paid to the assigned pilot as compensation for the reserved time; it is not retained by GT Drones.
The exact refund and fee are shown to you before you confirm a cancellation, so you always see the outcome before committing to it.
6. Pilot obligations
- Operate lawfully and safely, in accordance with all applicable aviation and safety regulations.
- Hold current licences, authorisations and insurance, and keep compliance documents up to date on the Platform.
- Only accept jobs you are qualified, equipped and authorised to perform.
- Deliver the agreed work and any deliverables to a professional standard.
7. Client obligations
- Provide accurate job information and safe, lawful site access.
- Obtain any landowner permissions or approvals needed for the work.
- Pay the agreed price through the Platform and not attempt to arrange payment off-platform to avoid fees.
8. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to request unlawful work.
- Circumvent the Platform to avoid fees, or solicit users off-platform to do so.
- Provide false, misleading or fraudulent information, including compliance documents.
- Interfere with, misuse, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform.
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, that pose a safety or compliance risk, or that misuse the Platform.
9. Reviews and content
Clients may leave reviews of Pilots. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. You are responsible for the content you submit, and you grant GT Drones a licence to host and display it on the Platform. We may remove content that is unlawful, abusive, or in breach of these Terms.
10. Disputes between users
Bookings are agreements between Clients and Pilots. Where a dispute arises, we provide a process to help raise and resolve it through the Platform, and we may hold affected funds while a dispute is being resolved. GT Drones may assist but is not obliged to resolve disputes on any party’s behalf.
11. Our role, and what we are not responsible for
GT Drones operates a marketplace. We connect Clients with independent Pilots, handle booking and payment, and hold records. We do not perform drone services ourselves. Pilots are independent contractors running their own businesses — they are not our employees, agents, or partners, and we do not control how they carry out a job.
We do not warrant the work quality, punctuality, conduct, skill, or continued licensing of any Pilot, nor the accuracy of anything a Client tells a Pilot about a site. We verify the documents Pilots give us and suspend those who fall out of compliance, but verification is a check, not a guarantee.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If we supply services to you as a consumer under the ACL, those guarantees apply and this clause does not limit them.
Where we are permitted by law to limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to resupplying the affected services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.
Limits that do apply
Subject to the paragraphs above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for loss or damage caused by the acts or omissions of a Pilot or a Client, including negligent work, property damage, injury, breach of aviation or privacy law, or failure to attend a job.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or reputational harm, however caused.
- Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with any booking is capped at the total amount you paid us for that booking.
- We are not liable for delays or failures caused by matters outside our reasonable control, including weather, airspace closures, CASA directions, equipment failure, network or hosting outages, or third-party payment processing.
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Indemnities
By Pilots
If you use the Platform as a Pilot, you indemnify GT Drones against any claim, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal costs) that we suffer arising from:
- your performance of, or failure to perform, a job accepted through the Platform;
- your negligence, or damage to property or injury to any person caused by you or your equipment;
- your breach of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations, your Remote Pilot Licence conditions, your operator certification, or any airspace, privacy, or trespass law;
- operating without the insurance required under clause 13, or with lapsed or inadequate cover;
- any claim that content you upload infringes another person’s intellectual property or privacy; and
- your breach of these Terms.
By Clients
If you use the Platform as a Client, you indemnify GT Drones against any claim, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal costs) that we suffer arising from:
- inaccurate or incomplete information you give about a site, including hazards, access, or airspace restrictions;
- your failure to hold or obtain the permissions, consents, or landowner authority needed for the work you requested;
- injury or damage occurring at a site under your control; and
- your breach of these Terms.
These indemnities do not apply to the extent the loss was caused by our own negligence or breach, and are reduced proportionately to the extent we contributed to it. They survive termination of your account.
13. Insurance
Pilots must hold and maintain, at their own cost, current public liability insurance covering commercial remotely piloted aircraft operations, for the whole time they are accepting work through the Platform. You must give us evidence of that cover on request, and tell us promptly if it lapses, is cancelled, or is materially changed.
Accepting a job is a representation that your insurance is current and adequate for that job. Operating without cover is a serious breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate suspension.
GT Drones does not insure Pilots or their equipment, and does not insure Clients against loss arising from a Pilot’s work. Clients should satisfy themselves that a Pilot’s cover is appropriate for the job, and hold their own insurance where the work warrants it.
NOTE FOR THE OWNER: set a minimum cover amount here (operators commonly carry $5m or $10m public liability, and clients on larger commercial sites often require $20m). Confirm the figure with your insurer and lawyer before publishing, then replace this note.
14. Account termination
You may close your account at any time through your account settings, subject to settling any outstanding obligations. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or where required by law. Certain records are retained after closure as described in our Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state. [Confirm your preferred jurisdiction.]
